Ideally, one chicken needs one Watt of electricity for a modern close house type cage," said Suharta.He said that one blower requires 1.3 kVA of electricity.Currently there are six blowers on each floor that function in his chicken coop.The lighting uses 120 watts of 20 watt lamps.Electricity consumption is also used for water pumps that run automatically.Currently, the installed power is 33,000 VA for a capacity of 24,000 birds."In the future, the cage will be standardized to a size of 12x120 meters with a capacity of 20,000 chickens per floor, bringing a total capacity of 40,000 chickens. Automatically for the smooth running of the business, electricity needs will continue to increase. Fortunately, PLN's support for the business we run is large enough that we do not find significant obstacles in business development," said Suharta.In Pontianak, this type of cage is new at the location of Suharta's cage.In the Segedong and Wajok areas, there are actually already using close house type cages but with a much larger capacity.The existence of a modern chicken farm owned by Suharta also absorbs workers from the surrounding area, as many as four people are employed for close house cages and two people are employed for open house cages.Meanwhile, the Manager of PLN UP3 Pontianak, Didi Kurniawan Abuhari, admitted that to electrify the location of Suharta's business, his party had to build a 300 meter long electricity network."This is a challenge for us, so that the business that has been built can continue to grow.
