PONTIANAK, SP - Starting from a simple chicken coop with a size of 8x50 meters with a capacity of 3,500 chickens, Suharta (59) started a chicken farming business in the Rasau Jaya area, Kubu Raya Regency. The change in his business started when Suharta got investors and intends to expand his business again by adding modern equipment to increase productivity."To increase business productivity, I submitted an application for additional electrical power to PLN UP3 Pontianak of 33,000 VA in 2021," said Suharta, Friday (3/9).The use of electricity, which was previously only for lighting, has developed into vital production tools such as blowers, water filters, and cell decks."This close house type cage was built with a size of 18x80 m, made of two floors with a capacity of 12,000 birds per floor so that the total capacity reaches 24,000 birds. Ideally, one chicken needs one Watt of electricity for a modern close house type cage," said Suharta. He said that one blower requires 1.3 kVA of electricity.Currently there are six blowers on each floor that function in his chicken coop. The lighting uses 120 watts of 20 watt lamps.Electricity consumption is also used for water pumps that run automatically.Currently, the installed power is 33,000 VA for a capacity of 24,000 birds."In the future, the cage will be standardized to a size of 12x120 meters with a capacity of 20,000 chickens per floor, bringing a total capacity of 40,000 chickens. Automatically for the smooth running of the business, electricity needs will continue to increase. Fortunately, PLN's support for the business we run is large enough that we do not find significant obstacles in business development," said Suharta. In Pontianak, this type of cage is new at the location of Suharta's cage.In the Segedong and Wajok areas, there are actually already using close house type cages but with a much larger capacity. The existence of a modern chicken farm owned by Suharta also absorbs workers from the surrounding area, as many as four people are employed for close house cages and two people are employed for open house cages.Meanwhile, the Manager of PLN UP3 Pontianak, Didi Kurniawan Abuhari, admitted that to electrify the location of Suharta's business, his party had to build a 300 meter long electricity network."This is a challenge for us, so that the business that has been built can continue to grow. The electricity network that has been built can also be used by several business actors around Mr. Suharta's chicken coop. Alhamdulillah, there is already 1 prospective _agriculture_ customer who is ready to be served with 41 power, 5 kVA," said Didi.PLN fully supports every effort to support the community's economy, especially during difficult times when the pandemic is still ongoing."With the spirit of serving and synergizing with each other, together we will go through and win against the pandemic," concluded Didi.(*)Cyber Guidelines About Us Terms of Service Careers AdvertiseCopyright © 2015−2022 Suara Pemed Kalbar All Rights Reserved.
